SWA Writers Contest - next contest will be held beginning late 2008 with a
deadline for submission is February 2009. Winning entries in Poetry, Short Story, and Personal Essay will be published in fall, 2011, in Currents VII, the SWA anthology of prize-winning writing.
Prize information, contest entry forms, guidelines and additional information can be found on the website - see the menu at the left. The contest, now in its 18th year, is open to all adult writers. Prizes are offered in each of three categories: poetry, short story, and personal essay.
Entry forms and guidelines can be downloaded from the website or requested by mail with a stamped, self-addressed envelope from the contest director, Pam Gjettum, 6 South Street, Exeter, NH 03833. Please review all guidelinews carefully. No entries will be accepted without an entry form. All entries are judged without the author's name. Entry fees are $5 per entry for Seacoast Writers Association members and $10 for non-members.
Winners will be publicly announced in May 2009 at the Seacoast Writers Association Spring Writers Conference. First place winners will be invited to read their winning entry.
